Blogger Reality Steve claims Bachelorette producers had a hand
in scripting the show's ending. Is there validity to his claims?
Blogger Reality Steve, an online authority on The Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise, recently made claims that ABC offered two men money to appear on the Bachelorette with Jillian Harris, guaranteeing them a spot in the final four.
Though he says both men turned down ABC's offer, Steve claims the show's producers reportedly offered at least two guys $50,000 to appear on the show and gain the affections of Jillian. These men, in turn, would make it very far in the competition, but would not win. Thus, they would be "groomed" for the role of the next Bachelor, already having viewers in their fanbase.
Whether or not the claims are true, there appears to be some validity to Steve's past predictions. Weeks before the news came out that Bachelor Jason Mesnick would propose to Melissa Rycroft, then break up with her on air weeks later at the After the Rose Ceremony, Reality Steve predicted this would happen. His inside sources seem to be right on. When the show aired, Steve's predictions came true before viewers very eyes, as Jason asked runner-up Molly Malaney if she would be willing to give their relationship one more try.

Jillian Harris alludes to a happy ending of this
season's Bachelorette.
The concept that ABC would "script" a reality show to create a general sense of fanatacism and boost ratings is not a new one. In a recent interview with eliminated contestant Sasha Petrovic, the "season Jillian" castoff relays some moments from his one-on-one date at the auto museum. The "date" as Sasha described, was not what any real person would describe as a date. In between bits of conversation, both Jillian and Sasha were pulled aside to give interviews about their thoughts and feelings on the date thus far. "On the show everything gets squished in," he told E! Online. "Our conversation at dinner was pretty long. In between, we were doing interviews, and we had another 20-minute conversation."
Reality Steve says that moments of the show and specific interactions are definitely scripted, even if the overall result isn't decided by producers. He writes:
"As we all remember in the first episode, when David exited the limo, he stood in front of Jillian for a good ten seconds in complete silence....He said he couldn’t think of anything to say, Jillian liked that approach and gave him the first impression rose for it. Well, I have found out in recent days, confirmed to me by three independent sources, that Dave was told on the night of the meet-and-greet to pretend he was nervous. In addition, the scene where he is speechless in front of Jillian was also re-shot THREE times because he kept laughing every time he did it. Like I said, not surprising to hear it, but it all plays in to “roles” that are created for each guy....But if the first impression rose was staged this season, exactly what are we supposed to think about the rest of this nonsense?

Is the connection beween Jillian and Kiptyn
genuine or scripted?
Since exiting the show Monday, Dave has yet to speak to the media about any of the claims.
Predicted to be one of Jillian's final four, Kiptyn is well-liked contestant who could forseeably become the next Bachelor if things don't work out with Jillian.
But the asssuming question Reality Steve alludes to is: Could Kiptyn have also been paid by ABC producers to appear on the show? Though two men turned down the money, there's a chance that someone else saw the opportunity and ran with it.
There is no evidence for these rumors, and certainly no basis to say that Kiptyn will not win this season's show or that the connection between he and Jillian is manufactured or based on some monetary reward.
In recent interviews, Jillians says she's happy with the show's outcome. With no mention of engagement, she says she's "in a very good place."

Wow! You always suspect stuff like this. Makes me angry. Angry enough to stop watching? I guess we'll see next week :-/
Who is Reality Steve, I think he is full of BS and just wants to get his name out there. Great reporting!
I was suspicious of Jake and the over-the-top stuff he said during their early 1-on-1 date. It seemed very scripted to me, I wouldn't be surprised if he was offered an extra incentive to be on the show and act gaga in love so quickly. I just hope Jill was in on it and she knew who the paid actors were. I suspect she did, and she knew how long she had to keep them before they were cut. Based on screencaps from the season preview, it looks like Jake's storyline was to be cut before the HTDs and then crash Wes's HTD in Austin so Jillian can reject him again.
no doubt that the atfr show was a hoax and the pity for melissa was without merit. jason tried to the right thing but you can imagine the pressure the producers put on him to breakup on the show even though he and melissa knew the relationship was over.
it would nice if people start realizing that jason is not the cad and the producers played it out for ratings and dollars.
I read on a Vancouver newspaper blog that "one of the blonde bachelors" and Jillian were seen in mid-May at Granville Island market. There was shooting of them smooching, then they both left promptly in separate limos. If this is true, I am convinced this show is truly contrived, especially given the alleged timing of the Vancouver Granville Island date & the final rose cerenomy. Maybe we've all been conned......
Reality Steve is hilarious. He's been recapping the bachelor/ette shows since way back. His archives are worth a read...they're still funny.
Personally, I prefer the hilarious Reality Steve...not spoiler/product-pushing Reality Steve. But, I still follow his blog and I would recommend any fan of the show to check him out.
reality steve didn't "predict" anything last year - he was told by a source.
there is a difference.
the foot fetish dude; need I say more. Pro wrestling paved the way and is still the ratings King.
I thought when Ali was on with Jake, it was all a hoax, they wanted to groom her for the Bachelorette; Jake is a player in my estimation, he just picked Vienna, because the other girls couldn't stand her. He is a jerk. Ali supposedly has dated Roberto, or been seen with him before show began, so what do we know. A lot of lies, all the way around, I would say.
I wish there were grammar lessons for those who script. Learn prepositions and the pronouns that follow them (objective case)
Produced by the Kosher Mafia for stupid Goy minds.
