Ed Swiderski is happily engaged to Bachelorette Jillian Harris, as America learned in last week's finale and After the Final Rose show.
If that's the case, is there any truth to recent allegations by Betheny Steffan (24) and Lindsey Johnson (29), who say Ed dated them before, during and even after the taping of The Bachelorette?
The ladies dissed Ed to US Weekly, claiming they got sexy e-mails or text messages from him during the taping of the show. They feel he was being dishonest about his relationship with Jillian and his reasons for going on the show. The story has made its way to various media outlets including the NY Post.
Jillian and Ed filmed an interview with ABC's Good Morning America Wednesday to respond to these allegations, the lesser of which states that Ed was photographed at a wedding with ex Lindsey Johnson the weekend after he left the filming of the show (mid-season). Upon leaving, he told Jillian and producers that he needed to return to work so he wouldn't lose his job. Ed returned to the show a few episodes later, claiming he'd made a mistake and wanted another chance with Jillian.
In more condemning allegations, one of the girls says Ed spent the night with her a week after he proposed to Jillian.
"No, it's actually not true at all," Ed told GMA. "I think that Jillian and I have been the target of being one of the very few successful couples on the show, and I think that we're clearly being targeted because we're happy. Jillian and I have been completely honest and upfront about all of my recent relationships and there's just no truth to it." Ed says he won't go into details, but the tabloids are innacurate.
When asked for her two cents, Jillian says: "As Ed said, he has been very, very clear with me from the very beginning. He has been open and honest with me. I personally don't have time in my normal, regular life--that I'm getting back to--to entertain all of this. This is nonsense. I feel like I'm in high school. All of this stuff is totally inaccurate. And it's unfortunate."
She continues to explain, "I think that these women are very hurt and they did love Ed. And I can understand where they're coming from. And it must be very painful. But that was in the past... Ed is not deceiving me. Ed is not pulling the wool over my eyes. And lastly, if there was problems on the homefront or if there was an issue, I am not going to deal with it in this manner, with tabloids and rumors. I have learned from various seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette that I am not addressing anything in the media. And I am also going to say for anybody out there who does care about this--I don't know why because there are so many things in the world to care about--that this is the last time I am talking about this. It's a waste of all of our time. Ed and I can't understand where any of this is coming from, and I'm not talking about this ever again after today."
The engagement is still on according to Ed, who says, "I can't wait for Jillian to get [to Las Vegas] today, and maybe I'll take her down to the chapel of love." Jillian, on location in Chicago, cracks up at the joke.

Jillian was fooled by Wes, and I think she's in the same denial about Ed. Where there's smoke, there's fire, and I think Ed cheated on Jillian. I also don't think these two should or will get married.
I have to agree with the post above. Also, Ed seems like the 'woman' in this relationship. Theres something very 'stiff' about his personality...oh well, wish them the best of luck anyway,..and hope i'm wrong.
This story distgusts me. I feel deceived by Ed and by the show in general. Poor Jillian needs to cut her losses, take the high road and GET OUT of that relationship! It's built on false pretenses!
Maybe these girls are lying and just want attention. You can never tell in this situation. I do think that jill will get to the bottom of it, and in the end the truth will come out.
Aw, I really hope that Jill and Ed are happy and that these are only rumors. Maybe the girls got paid for these stories. You never know anymore.
