'Bachelorette' Desiree Hartsock show's second choice?

Desiree Hartsock is the new "Bachelorette" and some reports suggest that she was actually the show's second choice. On March 11, Lalate reported that tonight's runner up was actually offered the role first, but she turned it down. Fans find that a little hard to believe given just how popular Desiree was on Sean Lowe's season of "The Bachelor."

"Bachelorette" spoiler alert! Don't read further if you don't want to know the outcome of tonight's finale.

Desiree had her heart broken by Sean whom she felt was making a "huge mistake" by sending her home after hometown dates. Fans watched in disbelief as their pick left the show in tears.

Desiree Hartsock's "Bachelorette" announcement is coming tonight on ABC at some point during the 3-hour finale of "The Bachelor." As previously reported, Reality Steve already outed the news and other media outlets have caught on after spotting Des out filming in Los Angeles. Reality Steve has also given details about the men that will be begging for roses.

So fans will watch the announcement tonight but for those wondering why Lindsay Yenter (the rumored runner up) isn't the next "Bachelorette," well that's unknown. Whether or not she was offered the spot seems to be a rumor too... but Des was undoubtedly more popular. Her season should be great, not unlike that of "Bachelorette" fave, Ali Fedotowsky's.

"The Bachelorette" with Desiree Hartsock will begin airing in May. Spoilers will be available in no time at all, so fans who are impatient (or like to know the outcome of the show before every one else), you'll know more about Des and her guys very soon.
