“Bachelor” star Jason Mesnick and his wife were one of the lucky couples that found love on the show. The two have been expanding their family since getting married and it sounds like people look up to them to learn more about reality television love and moving forward in the spotlight. According to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report published on Sept. 5, “Bachelor” star Jason Mesnick is now revealing that they were also cast on the show because they met some specific criteria.
It seems like it isn't everyone who applies to find love that get the opportunity to go on the show. Lately, there are only beautiful and skinny people on the show, meaning producers go through the long list of applicants to make sure the contestants fit certain standards. “Even for us people who are on reality shows, we’re all cast, I’m sure people know this, we are all cast for a reason,” Mesnick has revealed in the podcast that he and Molly Mesnick record.
“I remember, I was at the production offices of The Bachelor and they had a big board, this was before Jillian Harris’ season of The Bachelorette, they had a big board. And, on the board, on the top level — and these guys, they hadn’t started filming yet — were two ‘contenders’ and there were pictures of the guys. And below that, there were a handful of ‘villains,’ and below that were… a few other categories. There might have been a single…” Mesnick revealed. Molly added that the producers go after people with personalities, but their “roles” on the show are not revealed. They are exposed as the show moves forward.
Of course, it is expected that producers are going after people who can provide enough personality and entertainment for an entire season. What do you think of Mesnick's board discussion?
