“Bachelor” star Gia Allemand shocked the world when she committed suicide in August. It was later revealed that she had been battling some serious demons and it sounds like she just wanted to get engaged and be happy. However, her boyfriend Ryan Anderson was not ready to make that commitment. To give people more information about what happened, the family sat down with Dr. Phil for his season premiere episode. According to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report published on Sept. 5, “Bachelor” star Gia Allemand's mother is now speaking out about her daughter's suicide.
The episode supposedly features interviews with Allemand's mother Donna Micheletti and her representative. Allemand's representative Penelope Jean Hayes reveals that the show has already been filmed and was “raw and heartfelt.” “I wanted an opportunity to tell my daughter’s story and give some background into Gia’s struggles,” she revealed in a press release. “My hope is that talking about Gia’s death will be helpful for our family and be a message to others in emotional pain. As a respected professional, Dr. Phil was the best choice in having this conversation. We are very grateful for the opportunity to communicate through Dr. Phil’s platform.”
There had been rumors that Jake Pavelka would be joining her mother in speaking out on the show, but he was not present during filming. “Ryan Anderson was the only man whom Gia's mother invited to participate. Jake might be appearing on his own accord,” her representative added. No word on whether he actually attended the taping.
