Last night’s episode of “The Bachelor” proved to be one of the most dramatic endings this season. Sean Lowe let Desiree Hartsock go after visiting with her family for the hometown dates. Des was heartbroken and many were left feeling like the 29-year-old Texan just made a huge mistake. Host Chris Harrison told TV Guide in their weekly interview on Feb. 19 that he feels the same way.
"I'm pretty sure he let go of the love of his life," Harrison told the magazine. Even he thought that the bridal stylist would at least make it to the final two. It was clear from the start that Sean and Desiree had quite a connection as seen by the ease of their blooming relationship onscreen. However, her brother’s negative comments seemed to affect the blond bachelor so much that he sent her home.
Desiree's brother Nate sat down with Sean to have a chat. During the conversation, he called Sean a playboy. Ouch! He also told him that he didn't think Sean was as into his sister as she was into him.
Sean is quite particular about family, but who knew how much? Harrison said that things were great at first. However, things took a turn for the worst. “Her brother came back, did a 180 and went crazy,” he said. “I heard about it later and asked if the producers did something and they said, 'No, we have no idea what the hell happened.' It made no sense.” Desiree even took Sean aside to apologize for her brother's rudeness but to no avail. She left in tears, even pleading with him not to let her go. You can bet there were viewers pleading at the same time for Sean to change his mind.
“Sean Tells All” is airing tonight on ABC. It will be interesting to see what he has to say about Desiree’s surprising departure and if he has any regrets on his decision.
Do you agree with Chris Harrison that Sean Lowe let the ‘love of his life’ go last night?
