“Dancing with the Stars” has a history of inviting former “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” contestants to appear on the celebrity dancing competition show but it appears that invitation has not been extended to the current bachelor, Juan Pablo Galavis, according to Wetpaint on Feb. 19.
Both shows appear on ABC so it would make sense for the network to make the most of its reality TV stars. In the past, Sean Lowe, Melissa Rycroft and Jake Pavelka have been among the “Bachelor/DWTS” crossovers. What about Juan Pablo?
Juan has been shown dancing with a number of ladies on “The Bachelor.” He has even said he loves dancing. His current show wraps up on March 10 and “Dancing with the Stars” doesn’t premiere until March 17 so he would be available.
Reality Steve, who is known for his Reality TV spoilers, mentioned in his video chat blog this week that JP will not be dancing for the ABC show this season.
This is not really surprising to anyone who’s been following the Venezuelan single dad’s antics this spring.
Earlier this season, Juan Pablo made horrific homophobic comments that he tried to backpedal over unsuccessfully. Saying gays are “More pervert” than straights didn’t go over well with anyone. According to Reality Steve, not only was that sufficient ammunition for not asking him onto “Dancing with the Stars,” it was reason enough to ask him not to attend the televised wedding of Sean Lowe and his bride Catherine.
He later astounded viewers by ‘slut shaming’ contestant Claire Crawley after their sexy dip in the ocean in the wee morning hours. His double standard for sexual permissiveness between the single moms on the show, the single ladies without kids and his views on what his daughter should or shouldn’t see - given the day of the week, it seems - make for a very unscrupulous and unstable Bachelor!
ABC has not revealed the season 18 cast for “DWTS” nor have they commented on whether or not Juan Pablo was ever officially in contention for a spot so there could still be a chance, we suppose.
Do you think Juan Pablo should be on the show?
“Dancing with the Stars” returns with season 18 on Monday, March 17 on ABC.
