Juan Pablo's season of 'The Bachelor' has been deemed as a "wasted season" by many viewers. As previous bachelor Sean Lowe recently tweeted: "Juan Pablo lives with his foot in his mouth." After inappropriate comments to Clare, and continual controversy all season long, people were already irritated. However, Juan Pablo's appearance on the 'After the Rose Ceremony' which aired following the finale on Mon. March 10, proved that he could still dig himself into an even deeper hole.
As viewers had just witnessed in the finale, Juan Pablo did not propose to Nikki or tell her he loved her at the final rose ceremony. The rumor mill has been insisting that Juan Pablo and Nikki are already in trouble or even worse...that they problems long before the finale. Still, during the 'ATFR' the couple insisted that they are working on their relationship and taking things slow. Though Chris Harrison tried to get the word 'love' out of Galavis, he just wouldn't say it.
Now, the disliked bachelor has shared his reasoning for not proposing to Nikki. In a People article dated Weds. March 12, Juan Pablo and Nikki both shared their take on the 'no ring' outrage that has erupted.
"You go on [The Bachelor] thinking if there is the connection, you propose," Galavis tells PEOPLE. "But I don't feel there's a need to propose to somebody if I don't feel 100 percent. I didn't know Nikki. I want to know more, a lot more."
Had he gotten down on one knee, I absolutely would have said yes. But having a ring on my finger wouldn't stop us from breaking up," she says in an interview with PEOPLE. "What's going to keep us together is having a real relationship. I'd rather have him propose when he feels it's right."
Though Juan Pablo is known as a "clueless" kind of bachelor, he isn't clueless about the public's perception of him.
"It's hard because [viewers] saw a character on TV," he says. "A lot of things about me were not shown. I'm not a bad guy. People who know me, know who I am."
So where does the latest 'Bachelor' couple stand? Ferrell is still living and working in Kansas City, Mo. as a nurse, while Galavis continues to work his sport consultant job in Miami.
"It's our start now," says Galavis. "We can get to know each other fully. We're not in a rush."
