Who got sent home on the Feb. 5 episode of ABC’s “The Bachelor”? That’s a great question. On their Canada dates, the bachelorettes had to jump into icy water, rappel down a mountain, and go sledding in the snow to win a rose from “Bachelor” Sean Lowe during episode six which aired Feb. 5.
Episode six involved a group date, two one-on-on dates, and of course the much anticipated rose ceremony.
This time though, one bachelorette did not make it to the rose ceremony. After taking a risk by participating in the “Lake Louise Polar Bear Plunge”, Sean sent her home. Sarah made it a point to show him some family photos at the cocktail party. She mentioned how ready she was for him to meet her family and you could sense Sean was not on the same page.
The group date involved Tierra. Sarah, Ashlee, Lindsey, Selma, Daniella, and Lesley M. Selma immediately wrote off the event, saying she was from the desert and was in no way interested in diving into icy cold water.
In case you were wondering, yes, Tierra made drama on this date too. At one point, she jumped ahead of everyone right into the water. When she decided to run out, she started acting as though she couldn’t breathe and was quickly taken away by the lifeguards. This doesn't stop her from crashing the party after the group date though.
The girls, obviously suspicious of yet another “Tierra accident” all had their doubts. Lesley M. jokes:
"Everybody watch your back, we have a Tierra-rist on our hands." Lesley M.
Sean Lowe gifts the rose to Lesley on their group date explaining they have “turned a corner”.
Sean picked Catherine and Desiree (AKA Des) for his one-one-one dates for the week.
Sean and Catherine go sledding in Jasper National Park. They ended up making snow angels and having dinner in a romantic ice castle. Their ride to the ice castle was, of course, a horse drawn carriage! The former Texan college football player gives a rose to Catherine at the end of their date saying: "I'm crazy about you, I can't get enough of you."
In the second one-on-one date for episode 6, Sean takes Desiree to Banff National Park where they rappel down a mountain. Afterwards they have dinner in a cute little teepee and Sean tells the camera: "I could see myself proposing to Des." She gets a rose at the end of the date.
On to the cocktail party and rose ceremony.
If you’ve been watching since the premiere, you probably remember Selma saying she would be unable to kiss Sean because of her Muslim roots and the fact that it would bring shame to her family.
Well, apparently she had a change of heart or felt the desperate need to do something different and she kissed Sean. She literally apologizes to her mother, saying:” Please forgive me, I had to bring out the big guns tonight.”
Selma’s kiss ends up being her kiss good-bye from “Bachelor” Sean Lowe.
So, who does Sean send home during the rose ceremony? Sean Lowe eliminates Daniella and Selma. Selma may have dug her own grave when she decided to kiss Sean. Who knows? As for Daniella, there never really seemed to be any spark there at all.
