Ben was known to viewers as the fun, sentimental guy on season seven of The Bachelorette. ABC has dubbed him a "Renaissance man" in a press release. He made it to the final two and even got down on one knee and proposed to Hebert, although she was in love with J.P. Rosenbaum and ultimately chose to be with him instead.
Ben lives in California, owns Evolve Winery and was rumored to have had a fling with actress Jennifer Love-Hewitt in between being rejected by Ashley and agreeing to be the next Bachelor star.
Host of The Bachelor, Chris Harrison told People Magazine that Ben was a great guy who the contestants were excited about.
"I traveled with him, obviously, in Ashley's season and got to know these guys really well, and he's a good guy. He's a great guy," Harrison said. "I mean, who wouldn't want a good-looking guy who lives up in Sonoma on a vineyard? So, it's going to be an interesting season, for sure."
Are you excited to see Ben as the next Bachelor star? Do you think he'll find love like others from the popular reality series, like Ali Fedotowsky, Ashley Hebert and Jason and Molly Mesnick?
The next season of The Bachelor premiers in January 2012 on ABC.
