Fans are excited that Juan Pablo Galavis is going to be "The Bachelor" 2014 and while viewers have quite a bit of time to wait before the show airs, information about the contestants is already being released. On Sept. 11, Wet Paint revealed some information about contestant Ashley Poe.
The Texan gal teaches first grade at EP Rayzor Elementary School. As fans remember from "The Bachelorette" 2013, Juan Pablo has a 4-year-old daughter named Camila, so this would tell him that she loves children, a definite bonus for Ashley.
Both of them have lived in different places. "The Bachelor" 2014 has lived in Venezuela, New York, Miami as well as some other towns. Ashley Poe was born in Honolulu and then lived in New York, Oklahoma and El Paso before settling in the Texas town of Lampasas, all before she reached second grade. After her 2005 high school graduation, she attended the University of North Texas in Denton.
She is also quite busy. In 2010, she competed in Miss Texas USA and these days when she isn't teaching, she works as a first grade trainer, instructing teachers on how to teach math and helping setting curriculum for new educators. She was also nominated for the Texas Outstanding Early-Career Teaching Award and has a goal of getting her Masters degree from Harvard University.
Her interests include traveling, cooking, TJ Maxx, music, family, crosses, pampering herself, doing philanthropy, autumn and Thanksgiving. She also loves the water and wants to learn to surf. As far as helping others, she did the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure in 2010 and works with Smile Train, which helps raise money for children with cleft palates.
With so much Ashley Poe has already done, what is next on her list besides being selected by Juan Pablo Galavis as "the one?" She said,
“My next personal goal in life is to run a marathon (which will definitely be a journey on its own!) with the ultimate goal of bringing a marathon to DFW to bring awareness to Lung Cancer while raising money for the American Lung Association in hopes to provide free lung screenings as well as raise the necessary funds for new research.”
What do you think of Ashley Poe? Do you think she sounds like a great match for Juan Pablo Galavis, "The Bachelor" 2014?
