Baby swung in 'child yoga' video causes outrage

A baby being swung in a "child yoga" video is causing an outrage after it was posted on the Internet, Daily Mail reports Feb. 15. In the footage, a woman is seen flipping, twisting, and spinning the baby boy around like a rag doll. As she continued the flipping and swinging the months-old baby in circles, he was becoming redder and visibly more distressed.

The Russian woman handling the innocent child at one point calls the baby an "idiot" and asks him, "What's the matter?." She is also heard saying, "He wants me to do it. He wants it. The little idiot. He likes this."

It's unknown if the video is real or fake, the report went on to reveal. Extreme "child yoga" is immensely popular in Eastern Russia, however. Sessions often last up to five minutes with babies being swung around by a single limb.

The latest trend in "baby yoga" is controversial at best. Those who practice and support it believe it helps blood flow to the joints -- making the child grow bigger and stronger than it normally would. It's also thought to improve muscular abilities and improvement.

The Facebook video attracted a lot of criticism -- with some insisting it be removed because it glorifies child abuse. The social network didn't find the video to be threatening or violent.

It's a horrific video, all in the name of "baby yoga" or "child yoga."
