Create the perfect one of a kind baby shower gift, the no one will forget. Give a gift that can be kept forever, a baby’s first keepsake box.
In order to create a gift that will stand out against all the generic ones you will need to get several items. A cute pre-decorated box or one that you can decorate yourself, three or more cork glass bottles, a scrapbook, and a few personal items you may want to add to the gift.
The first step is to decorate the bottles. If you know the sex of the baby you can choose to decorate it pink or blue, if not you can do a generic color like yellow or green. There are several ways to decorate the bottles, you can use fabric glue, stickers or even print out labels and tape them on the bottles. Each bottle should be labeled with the following: baby’s first tooth, baby’s first curl (first haircut), mommy and baby’s hospital wristbands, etc.
The scrapbook can be decorated as much or as little as you would like. You can start with one or two pages devoted to the mother’s pregnancy, leaving space open for her to add any photos or items she wants. Make sure to put in extra supplies like cute baby shower themed paper and stickers, so she has something to start working on.
Next step to making the best baby shower gift is to make sure the box/basket is decorated. Your local craft supply store should have a section to buy wooden letters. If the parents have already picked out a name you can buy the letters to spell it out, if they haven’t already chosen a name you can buy letters to spell out “baby.” Paint and glue them onto your wooden box, or if you are using a basket tie decorative ribbon around it.
The packaging step is the most difficult. You want all of your hard work to come together to showcase how great your gift is. Start by adding paper crinkle shred to the bottom of your box/basket. Then neatly fold any extra gifts you bought, like blankets, outfits, etc and put them towards the back of the basket. Next add your scrapbook and in the front put your cork glass bottles. Wrap the entire package in clear cellophane and add a giant bow.
The mother-to-be will love your unique keepsakes box and creativity.
