Take a break from your normal Sunday afternoon park play or movie and get your groove on for a good cause. International phenomenon Baby Loves Disco brings its first national “Lemonade Tour” to Cinespace on October 24. This family dance party is stopping in more than 45 cities to raise funds and awareness for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a nonprofit organization devoted to finding a cure for all childhood cancers.
Cinespace nightclub will be transformed and child-proofed as kids from six months to six years dance and shake their booty to a fun mix of music. Moms, Dads, Grandparents, and older siblings are all welcome to get down and get funky on the disco floor. The party can continue at home as the first official soundtrack, Baby Loves Disco: The Original Soundtrack digital album is available online.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was founded by Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who was diagnosed with childhood cancer just before her first birthday. At four she told her parents she wanted to set up a lemonade stand and give the money to doctors to help them find a cure. In one day she raised $2,000. At the age of eight, she passed away. In 2005 her parent’s started Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to continue her work. Since its inception, ALSF has raised more than $35 million, with more than $12 million coming from lemonade stands.
If you are unable to make the event, donations to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation can also be accepted via text. A $10 donate can be made by simply texting “Lemonade disco” to 85944.
