Baby killed by pit bulls; funeral arrangements, memorial fund announced

As reported on Examiner, a 14-month-old baby boy was killed after two pit bulls first turned on their owner, and then killed baby Daxton Borchardt. Both pit bulls were described as "loving and not agressive" by their owner, Susan Iwicki who was babysitting baby Daxton at the time of his death.

Funeral arrangements were announced today, as well as a memorial fund that has been set up in memory of young Daxton.

Friends, family and anyone wishing to offer sympathy or pay their respects to Daxton and his mother and father may visit The Monroe Funeral Home's website for more information.

The funeral home has also set up a specific page of memorial, which can be found by clicking here.

Daxton's death has raised many questions and concerns about the breed. One news organization is reporting that neighbors are declining comments at this time in order to allow the family to grieve.

Family and friends have set up the Daxton Borchardt Memorial Fund at Associated Bank for anyone who wants to donate. For more information on donating to the fund, the specific bank branch can be reached at (262) 728-6337

*Reporter's Note: I do not choose what happens in the news and have no control over what type of breed attacks. All dogs can be dangerous. As I have received death threats due to a defamatory article that was written about me and never retracted, I feel it important to note that I only report. In many of my stories, I choose to use dog* (with the asterisk next to it) so that individual readers may do their own investigation as to what type of dog was involved in each incident. I receive news tips that are tailored to "Dog Attacks" that do not include one specific breed. ~ Joshua-Paul Angell
