All fathers hope to get that special moment captured on film right after their baby is born of the sweet, minutes old baby being held up by the doctor.
Randy Atkins got a better shot.
In October, Randy's wife Alicia gave birth via a c-section and Randy wanted to get it all on film for family and friends to see, what he got was a moment that captured the world in a photo that has gone viral and melted hearts all over the internet.
Nevaeh Atkins was not even out of her mother's belly when as the doctor went to take her out, she reached out with her perfect little hand and grabbed his finger.
Randy said the doctor called him over yelling;
"Hey, she's grabbing my finger."
According to Atkins,
"So I ran over there and just grabbed the shot and I was just in awe looking at it. It was such an amazing picture,"
Randy and Alicia shared the amazing picture on Facebook the day after Christmas and the picture soon became the talk of the internet. Over 12,000 viewers have seen the photo. Randy took the amazing picture but Alicia is the photographer of the family, owning her own business, "A Classic Pin-Up"
Randy told AZ.com that they were not sure how people would handle the photo, seeing as it showed Alicia's belly cut open:
"We didn't think we were going to get such positive feedback. We thought we would get more negative 'that's disgusting,' [but] everybody just thought it was the best thing in the world."
The hospital staff said they have heard of "baby reaching" but no one has ever captured it on film before.
Allan Sawyer who delivered the sweet, baby girl who was eager to get out of her mommy and say hello to the world, was given a canvas print with the beautiful photo to keep.
He was also tagged in the picture and many compliments were given to him from others whose children he had helped deliver.
He is part of a very cool experience, but that sweet, perfect, little hand is the true star, the true miracle of this story.
As Neveah's mommy said of the photo;
"I am in awe of this photo, Something to remember forever."
A memory, a moment to last a lifetime.
