When a baby falls eight stories, it's hard to imagine that he survived. However, the baby fell eight stories in his mother's arms as she jumped from an apartment window in New York. Police believe that the woman was trying to commit suicide. She succeeded but her baby survived. On March 14, FOX News reported that the 10-month-old baby is in critical but stable condition today.
"Police say they discovered a seven-page suicide note under a bed in the apartment [Cynthia] Wachenheim shared with her husband. Wachenheim said in the note she recognized what she was about to do was 'evil' but she was concerned about how her child was developing," FOX News reported.
The baby falls eight stories in his mother's arms but his life was spared. Some believe that there was a higher power of some sort watching over him, ensuring that he was safe. According to a passerby, the baby's body bounced of his mother and landed face down on the pavement.
His mother, 45-year-old Cynthia Wachenheim, was not so lucky. By the sounds of her suicide note, there was something wrong with her son that she couldn't fix -- or at least that was her perception. It is unknown if the baby had any developmental problems. One would imagine that things would have to be pretty bad for the mom to try to kill herself and the innocent little boy.
So the baby falls eight stories but manages to defy his mother's wishes. It is presumed that his father will care for him moving forward.
