Baby Born In Walmart Bathroom

Redding welcomed a new addition to the city early this morning in a most unusual way. At 4:13 this morning, Redding firefighters reported to the Walmart on Dana drive where a woman had given birth in the bathroom. According to Battalion Chief Rob Pitt, the mother and child were transported to a local hospital. There is currently no confirmation which hospital treated them and aided in welcoming the new born into Redding city life. Dianna Gee, a spokeswoman for the Walmart Company, stated that a basket and flowers were sent to the mother and they sincerely hope the pair will visit the Redding Walmart again soon. Gee also reported that both mother and baby were doing fine.

Around the web, conversations have ranged from name suggestions for the new infant (Wally and Marty being quite popular on various news pages) to hopes that the two would not have any health issues from the incident happening in a restroom rather than a more sterile hospital room. Among many social media comments were well wishes to the mom and a notice that this little boy would have quite a memorable story to tell about how he came into the world.
