White Plains, NY– Valentine’s Day 2010 was not a day of roses and love for a dog named Babs. Instead, it was the day this beautiful dog became a resident at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter.
Yes, well over a year ago, a dog that was just a puppy at the time went into a shelter facility …and she has never left.
Babs is beautiful, healthy, and friendly – but her life is passing by while she sits behind bars…away from the love of a companion…away from grass to roll in…away from the warmth of the sun.
What must this young dog feel? In the beginning there was likely a mixture of dismay over being put into a cage. But still, hope that someone would see the obvious mistake and let her out…
But the days turned into weeks. The weeks rolled into months – and that mistake was never realized.
The eagerness for a chance to get out and stay out would fade – because in the end, Babs always goes back into her cage – alone.
Babs is not living. Babs merely exists and she deserves so much more. It’s time for Babs to leave her caged home – it’s time for her to join a real family and learn about sunshine, running, chasing a ball, walking by the side of her guardian – living and loving.
Information on Babs:
- ID #5435
