Babar and Mother Goose piano concert 3/3/13 in Milwaukee

Did you know the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music has over twenty piano teachers? You can meet a few of them at their upcoming concert, geared toward a very young audience. On Sunday, March 3, 2013, seven faculty members will perform in "Trunks and Tales: A Family Concert with Piano Faculty". This concert features Francis Poulenc's Story of Babar and Maurice Ravel's Mother Goose Suite. A narrator, Jenny Gettel, will read from the stories as the pianists weave in the notes. The concert begins at 3:00, yet there will also be related art activities starting at 2:30. It would be best for you to be situated with enough lee-way time.

General admission is $5.00, available online with a $1.00 per ticket service fee; or call (414) 276-5760 to order. WCM students get in free but must reserve in advance by phone. Complimentary parking is available at Milwaukee Eye Care Clinic, 1684 North Prospect Avenue, which is one block north of WCM (located at 1584 N. Prospect).

Participating piano faculty are: LaRita Craft, Teresa Drews (the department chair), Rachel Fritz, Kayme Henkel, Kari Johnson, Linda O’Brien, and María Valentina Schlei.

The next Sunday concert at WCM will be with the string faculty in recital on March 17th, also at 3:00.
