For fans of the Binghamton Senators, finding parking at or around the Broome County Veterans Memorial arena, has been an absolute nightmare the last couple seasons. This season, things should be a little bit easier.
The Binghamton Senators announced Friday, that for the first time in two seasons, parking spots under the Governmental Complex, located at 60 Hawley Street, will be available to season ticket holders for the 2010-11 season.
Beginning at the Binghamton Senators' Open House this Saturday, July 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., season ticket holders will have the ability to purchase one of 200 parking spaces at a cost of $117 for the season. Availability is on a first come, first serve basis.
Should spaces remain following Saturday's open house event, season ticket holders will be able to contact the Binghamton Senators' executive offices at 607-722-7367 to purchase a parking space.
Additional parking is expected to become available to season ticket holders, as well as the general public sometime early in the 2010-11 B-Sens' season.
Senators giving the shirt off their back: The Binghamton Senators will don a special black jerseys featuring the "flying B" logo throughout the preseason in Newfoundland, Canada. The jerseys will also be worn by the Senators for all community appearances during the 2010-11 season.
The B-Sens will then sport the jerseys for the last time during the final home game of the 2010-11 regular season. Immediately following the game, in a special on-ice ceremony, the players will present their jerseys to a select number of lucky fans in attendance.
20 winners will be randomly selected from among the Binghamton Senators' season ticket holders, one winner will be that evening's recipient of the Hans Petersen Fan of the Year award, and four additional fans in attendance of the game will be chosen at random.
