He died from losing a battle with brain cancer. B. B. died in Kansas City and is described as a lover of wine, cigars, and close friends. He also enjoyed a good political debate now and then. Jeff Probst had nothing but great things to say about him. He was one of the first players of the game. Richard Hatch won the season of the show that he was on and also said that he has very fond memories of him.
