If you asked us the question: What's the best upscale, fine dining restaurant in the Jacksonville area? We would reply confidently with one word: Azurea. The AAA Four Diamond Azurea is located in Atlantic Beach, inside the One Ocean Resort. The highlights from this restaurant include seasonal menus, ocean views, top-notch service, and delicious food like wild game. We have written multiple articles about Azurea including:

As you can see from these articles, we are big fans of Azurea and we are excited to share the new menus with our readers. Azurea offers some of the most creative and different menus we've seen. We still remember the dishes we had years afterwards and that is really what we look for in a restaurant. Azurea's new menus include updated seasonal selections, as well as holiday menus for Christmas and Thanksgiving. The following are highlights that caught our eye from each menu:

Fall Lunch Menu:

  • Pink Lady Apple and Parsnip Bisque (served with parsnip chips/fruit and nut compote)
  • Little Moo Soft Chevre and Roasted Bartlett Pear (with mulled spiced Bartlet pear, goat cheese mousse, rocket lettuce Marcona almonds, sherry tarragon vinaigrette and heirloom tomatoes)
  • Citrus Poached Lobster Sliders (featuring Roma tomato, brioche rolls, roasted shallot aioli, celery peddles and bread and butter pickles)
  • Artichoke Hearts and Goat Cheese Flatbread (confit artichoke hearts, goat cheese crumble, sweet peppadews, roasted garlic cream, and baby arugula)
  • Bronzed Pumpkin Swordfish (served with fingerling potato hash, wilted baby spinach, heirloom tomatoes, and saffron citrus emulsion)
  • Crispy Maple Leaf Duck Breast (Anson Mills white polenta, black figs, locally sourced wild flower honey)

Fall Dinner Menu:

  • Florida Fig and Petite Greens (figs, toasted almonds, Tupelo honey, lemon dressing)
  • Bell and Evans Chicken Mousse (sweet potatoes, chestnut cream, foie gras frost)
  • Cast Iron Seared Jumbo Blue Crab Cake (*this is a highly recommended item that seems to remain on the menu regardless of season, this is probably the best crab cake we've ever had and includes ham hock braised collard greens, charred heirloom tomatoes, and crispy smoked bacon)
  • Fennel Dusted Hawaiian Sea Bass (Maine lobster, mango-lime gastrique, and cilantro nage)
  • Open Land Pheasant (red lentils, grilled Bermuda onion, and sage butter)
  • Dutch Valley Veal Osso Bucco (Cippolini onions, baby carrots, truffle scented mash)

Fall Dessert Menu:

  • Spiced Pumpkin Pot De Creme (bruleed meringue, gingerbread crumble)
  • Maple Laced Sweet Potato Toast (candied bacon bites, harvest spice marshmallow)
  • Golden Apple Creamcheese Pastelitios (hard cider chutney, fromage blanc anglaise)

Any true "foodie" is looking for the next memorable dish that they remember months and sometimes years afterwards. We are referring to meals that are experiences more than mere satiation. The new menus from Azurea are sure to offer diners that type of experience.
