Tuesday, CFC AZUL PDL Soccer and Western Connecticut State University announced a long term agreement for the team play all its home games at the university.

AZUL will move to the Western Athletic Complex on the Westside campus of WCSU. That complex is accessible to I-84 and Route 684 and within a 30 minute drive to towns in New York and Connecticut.

The AZUL PDL team plays in the Northeastern Division of the United Soccer Leagues Premier Developmental League.

"We look forward to a new deeply integrated community collaboration to further showcase a high quality of soccer in western Connecticut," said CDC's Peter D'Amico. "Our goal is to train competitive players for the PDL team as well as prepare players for college, university, professional and national team opportunities."

The relationship between Azul and the university also features community initiatives and outreach efforts, in which the AZUL PDL players will promote soccer in local communities.

The Western Athletic Complex field will be re-surfaced with state-of-the art turf in May. In the interim period, AZUL PDL will play their first several home games at Danbury High School.
