Austin Aztex responded from going behind early on before they managed a big 4-1 victory over Laredo Heat, celebrating their announcement of moving to USL Pro in emphatic style.

After a tight start Laredo hit the lead in the 19th minute after a handball from Eddie Campbell which allowed Joao Monteiro to hit a free-kick along the ground which lead to a goal mouth scramble before former San Antonio Scorpions player, Esteban Bayona poked in the opener.

Ten minutes later Bayona almost made it two as he was able to rise highest to get to a corner before Alesi Osorio was able to jump up and clear the ball off the line.

In the 37th minute Austin managed to get an equalizer as some sweet passing allowed Chuy Cortes to play a ball through for Sito Seoane who made some space for himself and shot a powerful effort that gave the keeper no chance.

Late in the half Austin were able to find a goal putting them in front as Seoane was able to send in a corner that found Kalen Ryden who headed home the goal to give Austin a 2-1 half-time lead.

Early in the second half the Aztex made it three after Eddie Campbell pressured the keeper off a back-pass, forcing the mistake to make it 3-1.

The match exploded in the middle of the second half after a Laredo Heat foul before the ball was kicked right in to the back of the player down on the ground, leading to a scuffle between the two sides, that ended in three yellow cards.

Laredo tried to attack, needing two goals, but Austin were comfortably sitting back on their two goal lead, absorbing the pressure, leading to only half chances for the heat, who struggled to create clear chances in the second half.

As the match was closing Austin sealed the win as an Adam Black corner allowed fell for Jeff Harnwell to stab home a powerful volley, sealing a 4-1 win that kept Austin’s undefeated, impressive start to the season.
