Az Pet Professionals features Examiner Author

Hi pet friends! Each month I feature a couple of my network members on our front page of Az Pet Professionals. If you live in Arizona you probably already know how well known our name has become. We are the only pet businesses network in the Valley that is based on credentials, ethics, trust and are invite only. We don't let just any pet business join us. We want only people who own pet businesses or are a pet service that we already know and trust. Afterall it's our clients and followers that we are recommending these other services to and we want to make sure we are giving them business names we already know and trust.

So Az Pet Professionals is doing great, and it is largely in part of our faithful followers and pet parents that use our members. We provide pet educational tips and videos and hope to be that one place all pet parents can go to for information and pet services. Thank you pet parents! www.azpetprofessionals.com

So I lucked out and am the first feature of the new year! Yeah! (I swear I did not plan it that way!

For those of you who don't know me, My name is Kim and I am a Certified Veterinary Technician and have been in the Veterinary industry for almost 24 years. I am the founder of Az Pet Professionals and am so proud of all the pet experts in this network group!

Yes it's cliche' but truly I've always known that this exactly my place in the world. Working with pets and their owners. My pets tell me I made the right decision as the trail of them follow me through the house everywhere I go. I guess they know too!

I feel blessed to work with these special souls and am so fortunate that I get to wake up every morning and love what I do!

After years in the Veterinary field I began expanding my knowledge to the outside world. I wanted to reach people and educate them in responsible pet ownership, assist them and give them someone they could ask pet related questions to, knowing they'd get an honest answer. Informing people that pet health education is important if you own pets. That your veterinarian is your pets most important person in it's life, but knowing realistically you can't bring them home to you ever time you need help or a simple question answered!

I opened Vetek Chic on Wheels knowing that there were people and their pets at home that needed assistance but simply didn't have it. I started my business in 2008 and my goal was to be the people's in-home help they needed. It's easy to send people off from the Veterinary Hospital with instructions on what they need to do with their pet once home, but often much more difficult for those clients once they are home.

PEOPLE HAVE IN HOME NURSES-WHY NOT OUR PETS??

I am dedicated to going into the homes of people who's pets have been diagnosed with a new medical condition that requires at home, continued care, recovering from an injury, or assisting in their pets quality of life.

After gaining the trust of East Valley Veterinarians who now understand that I am working with them, not against them, my businesses has become more widely accepted and needed.

I teach Pet CPR and First Aid classes. I am a firm believer that if you are a business that works with other peoples pets that it is imperative and simply good work ethics, to know what to do in case of an unexpected injury or accident while you have them in their care. For all pet owners..... it is highly informative on what you can do at home to stabilize your pet in case of an injury while transporting to the animal clinic.

There is so much involved in the class and goes way beyond just First Aid and CPR education.

If you'd like to join me for my class it's not too late! January 9th is my next class at 9 am.

Thank you to all of my pet sitting clients, Power Paws Assistance dogs owners and employees, Paradise Valley Science and Agriculture students, all the pet owners and pet business owners who've taken the pet CPR and First Aid course, and the colleges who've invited me to come and speak to your students about pet education. I've had a great 2012 and I know 2013 is going to be just as incredible!
