In the world of Ayurveda there is a heavy emphasis on process. There are few quick fixes. There are, however, many avenues to promoting lasting balance and health. Often in our society we are in quite a ‘rush’ and all too often a crippling rush to discover an immediate fix to a symptom rather than assessing an imbalance’s point of origin. Working with a trained Ayurvedic practitioner is a very wise choice and ultimately can assist in achieving and maintaining a more fulfilling life of health and true wellness.
The Ayurvedic practitioner is a facilitator of balance. As every person is different depending on their basic dosha type, past choices, and thought patterns….treatments and processes differ from person to person. There are, however, some very basic principles, or healthy habits, to implement regardless of dosha type, individual constitution, etc. The following are found at www.YogiCameron.com and are universal in Ayurvedic circles. *These are not intended to take the place of your physician’s recommendations and/or prescribed medications.
- Keep healthy habits and your life will be more fruitful.
- Go to sleep early, round 9 or 10 pm is fine.
- Try to eat your last meal earlier around 6 pm.
- Fast at least once a week to allow the digestive system to rest. (Fast from solid food)
- Take care to know when a new habit is forming.
- Know what you're thinking about at all times.
- Try to abstain from having too much sex.
- Contemplate your thoughts and actions.
- Don't talk too much until you are tired.
- Spend some time in silence.
- Try to eat twice a day.
- Read spiritual books.
