AXC - brought it down in Cullman last night.

The very first ISKA sanctioned MMA event in Alabama was incredible.  Even the air was electric.  ISKA was very much in the house with the ISKA president - Cory Schafer leading the way.  The ISKA staff was comprised of new faces, Luke and Lindsey Day, and old faces - the seasoned vets of the sanctioning body present and accounted for. Doing what they do best; checking, re-checking; making sure the rules were followed; supervising; shin guards and hand wrap in place; physicians present.

 

The Alabama Athletic Commission was there--Commissioners and Staff. Not just sitting ringside but meeting and greeting the fans and fighters and supporting ISKA and AXC. EPIC for Alabama. Made perfect by their presence.

 

Now - on to the fights.

 

Fight 1 - Brandon "Bad News" Brown vs. Josh "The Hooligan" Garner.  Didn't happen due to a very last minute injury to Brandon's knee.  He received medical attention and returned to the show.  He will fight another day.

Fight 4 - Tucker Wren - Riveria MMA - Huntsville, AL  vs. Heath Dively - Fear None MMA - Falkville, AL.
WREN defeated Dively - Round 2 - 2:04 - by submission

 

Fight 5 - Rick Taylor - Team Voltage - Berry, AL   vs.  Bryant Cohn - Champions Freestyle - Pelham, AL.

Fight 6 - Sedrick Johnson - Ultimate Boxing - Panama City, FL   vs. Cory "The Maniac" Jones - Champions - Birmingham, AL.
JONES defeated Johnson by judges decision.

 

Fight 7 - Keifer Hammack - Team Voltage - Berry, AL   vs.  Wes Baugh - Team Hybrid - Arab, AL.
BAUGH defeated Hammack - Round 1 - 2:33 - submission

 

Fight 8 - Kevin Tidwell - Swats - Jasper, Alabama   vs.  Eryk "Savage" Anders - Champions Freestyle- Tuscaloosa, AL.
ANDERS defeated Tidwell  - Round 1 - :50 - rear naked choke

 

CoMain Event - Bradley Gibson - Hueytown, Alabama   vs. Kyle Causey - Champions Freestyle - Centre, AL.
GIBSON defeated Causey - judges decision

 

Main Event - Johnathan "The Mexican Assassin" Abad - Fear None - Hanceville, AL    vs.   Anthoney "Gordo" Gali - Team Hybrid - Ardmore, Alabama
ABAD defeated Gali - judges decision

 

Teams representing Champions Freestyle MMA; Fear None MMA; Bad News MMA; Hooligan MMA & Fitness; Team Voltage; Team Hybrid; Riveria MMA; Ultimate Boxing - Panama City, FL; ands SWATS - Jasper.

 

Several guests were in the crowd including Sportfight X - Adam Gibbs.  Mr. Gibbs was enjoying the show and talking to fans and fighters about his upcoming Pro/AM show in Huntsville in March.   Strikehard Productions - watching and learning in order to present their show in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in February. Beyond Ringside - Brooks Logan; 97.7 The Zone's Curtis Putman - Huntsville, AL.  ABC 33/40's Producer Erica Jones.  Media coverage was extraordinary with everyone from live television coverage to sports talk radio to online MMA websites.
