Saturday, Aug. 16, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Rev. Kebba Buckley Button will sign her most recent book, “Peace Within, Second Edition” at the Summer Author Event held at the Phoenix Center for the Arts, 1202 N. 3rd St., in Phoenix. For the first time, the color e-book version will be available on a thumb drive. In addition, Button’s award-winning first book, “Discover the Secret Energized You,” will be available, as will her guidebook, “Embracing the Divine.” A stress management authority and minister, Button will answer questions on stress and serenity on a first-come, first-served basis.
Though she notes that “in our current world, many people are very stressed by questions of national and global stability, in addition to work and family issues,” Button believes that everybody can achieve true serenity. “This is the book to inspire deep and lasting calm for everyone,” she adds, speaking of “Peace Within.”
More than 30 Arizona authors from all parts of the Valley of the Sun – from New River to Queen Creek – will take part in the free book-signing event, which is open to the public. One author is even coming down from Prescott Valley. Participants range from new writers debuting their first book to award-winning authors with multiple titles to their credit. A wide array of genres means there will be something to suit every taste – from to thriller to romance to children’s books to business to spirituality to personal development, and more. The first 100 attendees to register can trade their printed free tickets for a tote bag at the door. Snacks and water will be available for sale from Foothills Community Services, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides food to the homeless in downtown Phoenix.
Book giveaways will take place on the half hour throughout the day, and winners need not be present to win, provided they complete their tickets legibly. Button’s “Peace Within,” and also “Discover the Secret Energized You,” will be among the giveaways.
