Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his Manhattan apartment Sunday February 2, 2014 of an apparent drug overdose. Hoffman won an Oscar for his role as Truman Capote in the 2005 film “Capote”. He had also won 72 other awards and been nominated 54 times for his work. Philip Seymour Hoffman is survived by his three children and their mother, Mimi O’Donnell. O'Donnell is a costume designer who has been Hoffman's girlfriend since 1999.
