FL - Celebrated filmmaker Susan Seidelman is collaborating with the acclaimed songwriting team of Ned Paul Ginsburg and Michael Colby on a musical version of Seidelman’s hit film BOYNTON BEACH CLUB.
Seidelman, director of DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN, SHE-DEVIL, and early episodes of TV’s Sex and the City, has written the libretto for this, her first foray into musical theatre. BOYNTON BEACH CLUB music is by Broadway orchestrator Ned Paul Ginsburg, whose orchestral credits include MINNELLI ON MINNELLI, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, The Academy Awards, and RADIO CITY EASTER SHOW.
BOYNTON BEACH CLUB Lyricist Michael Colby was nominated for the Drama Desk Award for the cult hit CHARLOTTE SWEET. His Florida credits include TALES OF TINSELTOWN (Coconut Grove Playhouse) and HERE’S TO DANNY (Bruce Adler’s tribute to Danny Kaye). Ginsburg and Colby’s musical THEY CHOSE ME! received rave reviews in NYC and has been seen in regional productions as well.
Director Pamela Hunt Drama Desk Award nominated for the popular MUSICAL OF MUSICALS. She has directed musicals and plays at such places as Asolo Repertory Theatre, Florida Studio Theatre, Florida Rep, and Coconut Grove Playhouse.
