Awakening - a near-death experience, a morgue and realization of God's blessings – final thoughts
Paul says his family members still have their doubts in his recollections about this event. Only his close friends know this to be true. Paul says passionately, “SO, believe me that I had this experience!” Paul explains that another friend who is not religious, but a pagan, said his brother also died after an operation and woke up in the morgue as well. Paul, and now this Examiner, believe that apparently these events do take place with some frequency and are just swept under the rug. “It was a seminal event in my life though. I am currently on disability, but am happy and love my family, regardless of their disbelief in my experience. I lived this and am adamant in believing it to be true." Paul explains.
You are not alone, Paul – with over 13 million adults, including this Examiner, and not including children’s near-death experiences are true believers and stand with you. The International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS) states, “The Gallup Organization and near-death research studies have estimated that, as of 1982, some 13 million adults NDEs in the U.S. alone had had one or more NDEs. Add children's NDEs, all experiences worldwide, and all experiences since 1982, and the figure would be much larger. Near-death experiences are uncommon but not rare.”
"The doctors didn't give any explanation at all, probably fearing possible repercussions." Paul says, "I wouldn't have been able to respond anyway. My jaw was wired shut and I spent two weeks recuperating in a hospital bed drinking sustenance through a straw." The culprit, from what Paul and others analyzed, was an anesthetic called Ketamine, popular at the time, but it was known to have produced OBE's (out-of-body experiences.). However, an out-of-body near-death experience is often practiced through meditation, to trancsend to a level of awareness and achieve a deeper connection with God and the universe.
In my opinion, Paul's came back to life from a true near-death experience and brought back those special gifts of the deepest love, peace, strength and honor for God. And, as many near-death experiencers will attest, there are other gifts brought back with you - most always a new outlook of love and beauty for all life, As a bonus, Paul returned with a fresh new talent and passion of prose, poetry and painting. Paul was meant to experience the comfort, love and peace of Our Lord and Savior in his time of serious surgery.
Special note: If you are wondering about the toe tag, Paul says, “I didn't keep the toe tag. In retrospect, I wish I had! At the time, it was just a pain to be removed." I can understand that not being a major concern for Paul at the time. I'm sure the hospital did not want that toe tag showing up. And, as strange as it may be, I might have had it framed in a shadow box ... on second thought...probably not.
