Awaken The Prophets preached the metal gospel at The Red Raven, on Aug. 20. They were the headlining act. Origins in Eden, Bridges and Cuatrachos were the opening acts. Force The Trigger was the main support.
Brandon Milberger and Tyler Boyce are the vocalists, Justin Milberger is the lead guitarist, Donovan Perez-Keister is the bassist and Christian Milberger is the drummer of Awaken The Prophets.
After Brandon Milberger introduced Awaken The Prophet collectively, he and Boyce encouraged everyone to jump up and down for “Armageddon”. During the performance, Perez-Keister chimed in with his bass-line grooves to bring in the instrumental. Then, Brandon Milberger screamed in his lyrics and asked everyone to wiggle their fingers to accompany Justin Milberger’s strums. Afterwards—they thanked the bands who went on before them, the venue and encouraged those in the back to move in closer.
Prior to “Another Life Form”, Tyler Boyce gave a shout out to The Beast of Milwaukee. He complimented by calling them gods among them. They went onto thank the sound technician, Mike Sword, for all of his hard work. Brandon Milberger announced it was one of their newest songs and believed other life forms do exist.
Before playing their self-titled song, “ATP”, Brandon Milberger mentioned why they put on the free show. It was the metal scene’s way to show how much they appreciated everyone for constantly going out to their performances and supporting them. They went onto thank the fans and the bands, before continuing on.
Boyce and Brandon Milberger were undecided when it came to ending Awaken The Prophets’ gig and they left the decision to the audience. Originally, Brandon Milberger was going to end their recital with “Event Horizon”. Then, Boyce suggested “Retrieving The Space Continuum”. With a tie vote, they declared both as winners and played both of them.
“Event Horizon” was saved for the finale of Awaken The Prophets’ concert. As the show struck past the midnight hour—Boyce thanked everyone for staying, for he knew some of them had work or school in the morning. During the instrumental—Brandon Milberger introduced his band mates individually, as Christian Milberger’s percussions echoed louder than the other instruments. After the song came to an end, Boyce mentioned they had merchandise for sale and for the fans to stay for the after-party.
“Flight of Pegasus”, “Corrections” and “Distraught Committee” were also part of Awaken The Prophet’s set.
