Pop rocker Avril Lavigne premiered her music video for "Rock N Roll" on Tuesday morning. The comic book-inspired clip plays out like a cheesy SyFy channel movie with Lavigne going to war with a BearShark (yes, a creature that is part bear and part shark).
Lavigne released the "Rock N Roll" single last month, which saw her return to a more amped-up sound. It follows the chilled out track "Here's to Never Growing Up." Both songs will be featured on her new self-titled album.
The "Rock N Roll" video opens with Lavigne getting the product placement out of the way. Instead of trying to be painfully low key about it (like most videos), she blatantly but playfully points out the Sony phone while getting in a quick joke about "Sk8er Boi." With all that said and done, the real magic happens when Lavigne enters an army comic book world full of random happenings. On the hunt for her archenemy, she loses a dog friend who was drunk driving and lays a kiss on a female comrade. In the end, Avril acquires her saw-guitar and has a final showdown with BearShark. It's a video made of epic proportions and laughs.
"Rock N Roll" will be available on iTunes on August 27. Her self-titled album is slated to be released by the end of the year.
