Avril Lavigne Forbidden Rose is the new fragrance from pop/punk singer Avril Lavigne. Forbidden Rose launched in July 2010 and is packaged in a black and purple bottle which evokes a sense of dark creativity. Unfortunately, much like Avril Lavigne's so-called punk music, the Forbidden Rose packaging tells a different story than what is actually inside.
Avril Lavigne Forbidden Rose is a fruity floral that is heavy on the gourmand or dessert notes. Forbidden Rose eau de parfum starts off with the sweet fruity scent of red apple, white peach and bourbon vanilla. The vanilla quickly over-powers the red apple and white peach leaving the fragrance very sweet. After about ten minutes, the heart of the fragrance settles in and the floral scent of white lotus, heliotrope and green apple briefly blends together with the original vanilla fragrance. After about three hours, the sticky sweet scent of vanilla, chocolate, praline and a hint of sandalwood takes over making Fragrance Fashionistas crave pralines and cream ice cream.
Avril Lavigne Forbidden Rose is not the ideal fragrance for someone on a diet. It will make you crave ice cream due to the heavy vanilla and overall dessert scent. The eau de parfum mixture is light and does not have very much staying power. Forbidden Rose will need to be re-sprayed two to three times during the day. Fans of Thierry Mugler's Angel might enjoy this fragrance as it is a lighter perfume that is easier to wear in large groups of people or to the office than Angel. Avril Lavigne Forbidden Rose is a warm fragrance that can be worn in cool weather. In warm weather, Forbidden Rose will become too overpowering and offensive.
Avril Lavigne Forbidden Rose can be found at Kohl's in Campbell. the 1 oz bottle is $29 and the 1.6 oz bottle is $39. Avril Lavigne will also offer Forbidden Rose in body lotion, deodorant spray and shower gel. The Forbidden Rose fragrance companions should be on store shelves by the end of August.
