Avril Lavigne among the many Canadian stars paying tribute on Mother's Day

Avril Lavigne and a host of Canadian musicians took time to celebrate Mother's Day on May 10. Others Canuck stars who joined the "Sk8terboi" hitmaker in recognizing moms on their special day included: Justin Bieber, Michael Buble, Jann Arden and Sara McLachlan.

Posting on May 11 to her official Facebook page, Lavigne, who is currently on tour in South America and Mexico, shared a pair of recent pictures of herself with her mom Judy. The shots have "Happy Mother's Day" written in white lower case script along with the caption, "Me doing mom's makeup."

Justin Bieber posted a number of Mother's Day tweets to his Twitter account in tribute to his mom Pattie. The "Baby" hitmaker, who spent time with his mom at the Los Angeles Clippers game, wrote, "Happy Mothers Day mama and all the other amazing mothers out there." The Biebs posted a number of selfies at the sporting event along with recent pictures embracing and kissing, as well as including some favourite childhood shots.

Michael Buble, who is currently on tour in Australia, took time to honour his mom Amber, posting to his official Facebook page, "Happy Mother's Day!! We hope you feel extra special and were spoiled today, you deserve it! Love from us to you." The superstar Canuck crooner enclosed an Instagram of himself and wife Luisana Lopilato with a kangaroo taken at the Australian Zoo.

Jann Arden, who's been busy promoting her brand new studio album "Everything Almost," posted to her official Facebook page with a lengthy and heartfelt tribute to her mom, which begins, "Mother's Day. There should be 364 more of them. My mother has been such an incredibly positive presence in my life." The eight-time Juno winner, who will be touring Canada this fall, concludes, "To say I am grateful for her love and her presence on this planet, would truly be an understatement indeed."

Sarah McLachlan, who lost her mother to cancer in 2001, still took time "to celebrate all the moms out there." The multi-Grammy winner and mother of two, who will also be touring Canada this fall, posted to her Facebook page, giving her fans an opportunity to create free personalized Mother's Day e-cards with song lyrics from her newly released studio album "Shine On."
