One of the major things that some people want to do on Halloween is getting scared. One of the ways people do that is through going through staged haunted houses where they will be scared as images of witches, ghosts, evil spirits, walking skeletons, and other demonic creatures appear and try to harm them.
Another way people like to be scared is through watching scary movies, reading scary books, or listening to scary stories.
A third way that people like to get scared is going to Halloween parties and seeing the scary people in deceptive costumes.
As scary as these activities are for the people who are involved in them; some people are avoiding thinking about something that could be the scariest activity of all. This involves thinking about what could happen to them after they physically die and go face God’s judgment of their lives.
The reason why this could be so scary is because when they stand before God’s judgment and He shows them the many times that they have broken God’s laws and tells them that they deserve the punishment of the sentence of spiritual death for doing those things, as well as being sent to live in the flames of Hell with the Devil and his spiritual forces of darkness forever; those people will realize that this isn’t a temporary deception that they can get out of, but it really will last forever.
Hebrews 9:27 (NASB) declares that ”it is appointed for men to die once and then comes judgment.” Romans 14:10 and Revelation 20:12-15 state that every person will have to face the judgment of God for what they have done. Revelation 20:15 declares that “if anyone’s name was not found in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”
However, there are many people who will avoid being in such a scary scenario because they have accepted God’s invitation to ask God to forgive them for breaking His laws and have also accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and spiritually applied His sacrificial atonement to their lives.
When people do those things, God forgives them for breaking His laws, removes the spiritual death sentence that they deserve for breaking His laws, takes them out of the Devil’s spiritual kingdom of darkness and puts them in God’s spiritual kingdom of light, makes them God’s newly restored creations, and sends the power of the Holy Spirit to live inside of them to give them the ability to live according to God’s principles of living found in the Bible.
As new Christians daily read their Bible to learn God’s principles and talk to God in prayer about their problems, they can develop a close relationship with God that will give new meaning to their life and help them overcome the many problems that they will face during the rest of their journey of life.
Then, when Christians successfully finish their journey of life on earth and physically die, they will go to face God’s judgment of their lives. Jesus will stand by their side and tell God that they have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior and His sacrificial atonement on the cross has neutralized the penalty of death that they deserved for breaking God’s laws and so this person can be taken to Heaven to live with Jesus forever.
Now that we have examined the scenarios that will happen to people after they physically die, people need to realize that everyone can either make a choice of those scenarios or their lifestyle will make the choice for them.
Since most people don't know the time when they will physically die and go to face God’s judgment; then they need be ready to face the scenario that will happen to them after they physically die.
People also need to remember that although they can fool some people by dressing up in a deceptive Halloween costume, they won’t be able to fool God when He strips off their deceptive costumes and their lame excuses for breaking God’s laws and shows them the reality of His judgments.
Then, they will realize that the deception of Halloween lasts a short time, but the reality of being sent to live in Hell lasts forever.
