Avoid Fad Diets, Stay Off Of The Bandwagon.

Dieters beware! Beware of the latest nutrition fad hyping a “miracle” supplement — any product promising to magically transform your body so that it’s leaner and more muscular. There is no such thing. There is no "wonder" product/supplement that will magically transform your body into a lean and hard spectacle. However, there is an important substance you need for growth and repair. That substance is food. To get the results you want from nutrition, food will always work the most effectively. Food works much better than “miracle” supplements or meal replacement diets (and its not even close). (1)

You can call food the “perfect supplement.” Food provides something that supplementsor meal replacement diets do not: the raw materials your body needs for growth and for the stimulation of chemical processes involved in the breakdown, absorption,and assimilation of nutrients. So why are so many people constantly looking for and trying the latest diet fad? It's due to one of two reasons most likely:

  • They don't understand food and how certain foods and food combinations can change their bodies drastically....or
  • They have an understanding of how to eat properly, but they have little or no discipline to follow an appropriate nutrition plan that feeds the body properly and adequately (without starving it).

It's also funny how people who push diet fads are often just doing so in an attempt to make money. They jump on the bandwagon of the "hot new thing" hoping to ride the product's claims to earn additional income. While there is nothing wrong with trying to make a living, many of these people have no clue about how the body really works. They give the talking points given by the fad diet's literature in order to win over a prospect. Of course, this does not apply to everyone pushing fad diets, but most likely applies to most of them.
