Avett Brothers, Aerosmith's Joe Perry, to promote Amnesty's Dylan tribute on TV

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry and the Avett Brothers will soon be performing on the late night talk show circuit to promote the upcoming charity release, Chimes Of Freedom: The Songs Of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International.

The Avetts, who played with Dylan at last year's Grammy's, are scheduled to cover "One Too Many Mornings" on Thursday night's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.  Then on Monday, January 30, Perry will perform "Man Of Peace" on The Tonight Show. Perry also tweeted he will be joining Randy Jackson and Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler (both now on American Idol)  on Jay Leno's late night show this Friday. (Trivia - Jackson recorded with Dylan in 1987 and 1990.)

The Avett Brothers' track, with Johnny Cash, was the last to be confirmed for the album. The band overdubbed the original recording from February, 1969, which originally featured Cash and Dylan trading verses. The Avetts replaced Dylan's solo vocals, but you can still hear Dylan's background singing on the final mix. The new "mash-up" of "One Too Many Mornings" also appears to have been sped up slightly.

Seal, who performed "Like A Rolling Stone" with Jeff Beck for Chimes Of Freedom, is also hitting the talk show circuit, but appears to be promoting his new album, Soul 2, scheduled to be released the same day as Chimes Of Freedom, January 24 (in the U.S.) Seal will be on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that day, and Jimmy Kimmel Live the evening of January 26.
