Stars from "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Daniel Radcliffe, Salma Hayek and Ben Kingsley are among the celebrities who will be making appearances to promote movies at Comic-Con International in San Diego. The annual sci-fi/fantasy/thriller convention for fans takes place this year from July 23 to July 27, 2014.
Mark Ruffalo, who plays The Hulk/Bruce Banner in Marvel movies such as "The Avengers," already told Collider that he and other cast members of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be at Comic-Con in 2014. Ruffalo did not name the other cast members, but we can expect Robert Downey Jr. (who plays Iron Man/Tony Stark), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America/Steve Rogers), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye/Clint Barton), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff) and possibly new "Avengers" cast members Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlett Witch) and Aaron-Taylor Johnson (Quicksilver) to be on the Comic-Con discussion panel. "Avengers: Age of Ultron" writer/director Joss Whedon should be there too.
The "Avengers: Age of Ultron" panel at Comic-Con has not yet been officially announced, but Marvel has typically had its Comic-Con panel on Saturdays, so expect the panel to be on July 26, 2014. "The Avengers" cast was officially introduced to the public at Comic-Con back in 2010. The first "Avengers" movie was released in 2012 and was the biggest worldwide box-office hit of the year.
Meanwhile, these Comic-Con 2014 celebrity appearances have been announced by movie publicists in email messages to the media:
"Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe will be making his first-ever appearance at Comic-Con to promote his movie "Horns," in which he plays a man who mysteriously grows horns after his girlfriend's death. A "Horns" panel is expected to take place at Comic-Con on July 25, 2014. Panel participants will be Radcliffe, director Alexandre Aja and novelist Joe Hill. Radcliffe and "Harry Potter" stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint never appeared at Comic-Con to promote the blockbuster "Harry Potter" movie series, but "Harry Potter" co-star Tom Felton did in 2010.
Salma Hayek and director Joe Lynch will be at Comic-Con on July 25, 2014, to promote their movie "Everly," which has this description: "An action/thriller centered on a woman who faces down assassins sent by her ex, a mob boss, while holed up in her apartment."
Ben Kingsley and Elle Fanning will be at Comic-Con to promote their animated film "The Boxtrolls" with several filmmakers from the movie. "The Boxtrolls" Comic-Con panel will take place on July 26, 2014.
This will also be the first Comic-Con appearances for Hayek, Kingsley and Fanning.
