Self proclaimed king of the environmentalists, and writer/director/producer of the biggest environmental propaganda movie since Al Gore’s Inconvenient Truth, Avatar (which has been re-released in a George Lucas style “special edition” with additional footage), has backed out of a global warming debate, that he set up.

Hollywood director James Cameron challenged three high profile global warming skeptics to a public debate at a global warming and energy conference in Aspen. But Cameron backed out of the debate at the last minute after environmentalists came out of the woodwork to warn him not to engage in a debate with skeptics because it was not in his best interest. Gee, I wonder why? Could it be because of Climategate? Could it be because an independent panel has questioned the motivations of the U.N Panel on Climate Change? But I digress.

Cameron challenged Andrew Breitbart, Climate Depot's Marc Morano, and filmmaker Ann McElhinney who’s documentary 'Not Evil Just Wrong, questions the science and motives behind the manmade global warming crowd. In fact the debate was already in the program for the Aspen American Renewable Energy Day (AREDAY) summit.

Yet despite issuing the challenge and setting up the debate, Cameron almost from the getgo began changing the rules for the debate— changing formats several times, according to article written by each of the skeptics on Climatedepot.com. “They initially said it would be open to the media, and then said he would only participate if it were private with no recording devices,” according to McElhinney. Yet despite the frequent changes, Breitbart, Morano, and McElhinney all agreed to Cameron’s demands, right up till the day he canceled.

"According AREDAY organizers," Marco writes, "activist Joseph Romm of Climate Progress urged Cameron not to go ahead with the debate." No reason was given. At the last minute Cameron took Romm's advice, calling off the event. But that didn’t stop the filmmaker from sucker punching the skeptics, spewing some hateful remarks for all those who don’t agree with him, as reported in an interview he did with The Aspen Times.

The following is an excerpt from that article (dated Aug. 23rd, 2010)— “James Cameron doesn't mince words when talking about people who are skeptical that humans are causing global warming.

“I think they're swine,” the renowned filmmaker told an audience member Sunday on the final day of the American Renewable Energy Day summit in Aspen.

Just before saying that, Cameron received a standing ovation for a short documentary he screened about a coalition of people he joined who are opposed to a massive hydropower project in Brazil that would displace a large tribal community there.

It was during a series of talks Sunday about the strong effect the right-wing punditry — Cameron named the regulars: Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, who are known for their sharp attacks on environmentalists — has on Americans.

“Effing demigods,” as green communications strategist Richard Greene called them.

“A lot of really good American people are being lied to,” added Peter Byck, the director of an upcoming climate change documentary called Carbon Nation.”

This is true, the American people are being lied to, but the people lying about manmade global warming are you and your ilk Mr. Byck.

“James Cameron's behavior raises some very important questions,” said McElhinney, one of the ousted, skeptical debaters, in her climatedepot.com article. ”Does he genuinely believe in man-made climate change? If he believes it is a danger to humanity surely he should be debating the issue every chance he gets. Or is it just a pose? ??The man who called for an open and public debate at "high noon" suddenly doesn't want his policies open to serious scrutiny. I was looking forward to debating with the filmmaker, I was looking forward to finding out where we agreed and disagreed and finding a way forward that would help the poorest people in the developing and developed world. But that is not going to happen because somewhere along the way James Cameron, a great filmmaker, has moved from King of the World to being King of the Hypocrites.”

Yet despite Cameron’s environmental propaganda film, and the refusal of the mainstream media to report any scientific evidence to the contrary, the American people (and in fact people world-wide) are waking up. According Rasmussen Reports, those believing man is the cause of global warming or climate change have plummeted in number:

Just one-out-of-three voters (34%) now believe global warming is caused by human activity, the lowest finding yet in Rasmussen Reports national surveying. However, a plurality (48%) of the Political Class believes humans are to blame.

Forty-eight percent (48%) of all likely voters attribute climate change to long-term planetary trends, while seven percent (7%) blame some other reason. Eleven percent (11%) aren’t sure. These numbers reflect a reversal from a year ago when 47% blamed human activity while 34% said long-term planetary trends.

The latest Pew poll on global warming shows a large drop in the percentage of Americans who say there is solid evidence that global temperatures are rising, from 71% down to only 57% in the last 18 months. And global warming due to human activity? The overall numbers have declined from 47% to 36%.

Even onetime global warming supporter, Physicist Dr. Denis Rancourt, a former professor and environmental science researcher at the University of Ottawa, has officially renounced the man-made global warming movement. In a hard-hitting and exclusive new video released by Climate Depot (visit climatedepot.com to view the video), Dr. Rancourt declares that the entire man-made global warming movement is nothing more than a “corrupt social phenomenon.” “It is as much psychological and social phenomenon as anything else.”

Rancourt went on to say in the video that, “Global warming is strictly an imaginary problem of the First World middleclass,” he stated. “They look for comfortable lies that they can settle into and alleviate the guilt they feel about being on privileged end of the planet -- a kind of survivors guilt. A lot of these environmentalists are guilt laden individuals who need to alleviate the guilt without taking risks,” he said. “They are weekend activists...looking for lies to hitch onto.”

Rancourt is also very critical of proposed global warming carbon trading or cap-and-trade. “Someone is going to make a lot of money from these schemes. I have great distrust for it. It is not motivated by true concern for social justice and the environment. It can only be about powerful financiers. I see it as an horrendous scam,” Rancourt said, adding he “I completely agree” with UK environmental guru James Lovelock who called carbon trading “verging on a gigantic scam.”

“Let me stress,” wrote Dr. Tim Ball (a renowned environmental consultant and former climatology professor at the Univ. of Winnipeg. Dr. Ball employs his extensive background in climatology and other fields as an advisor to the International Climate Science Coalition, Friends of Science and the Frontier Centre for Public Policy) in his article on CanadaFreePress.com , “I am not denying the phenomenon has occurred. The world has warmed since 1680, the nadir of a cool period called the Little Ice Age (LIA) that has generally continued to the present. These climate changes are well within natural variability and explained quite easily by changes in the sun. But there is nothing unusual going on.

Since I obtained my doctorate in climatology from the University of London, Queen Mary College, England my career has spanned two climate cycles. Temperatures declined from 1940 to 1980 and in the early 1970's global cooling became the consensus. This proves that consensus is not a scientific fact. By the 1990's temperatures appeared to have reversed and Global Warming became the consensus. It appears I'll witness another cycle before retiring, as the major mechanisms and the global temperature trends now indicate a cooling.”

Hell I’m no expert, just a sci-fi writer and columnist, but when I was going to school, I learned that the sun drives Earth's climate—in fact schools still teach this and in fact every scientist knows this to be an undisputed fact—that is all except the global warming scientists who seem to have forgotten this. Ask any scientists about the sun’s influence on the earth, and they’ll tell you that there is no doubt that over long periods of time, changes in the level of sunlight reaching Earth's surface affect climate.

Despite knowing this, global warming proponents are trying to dismiss this fact, pointing to greenhouse gases – mainly carbon dioxide from burning coal, oil, and natural gas – as the main force behind the current warming trend. The same people who hate capitalism—but that’s just a coincidence...right.

“Still, over the past decade some researchers say they've found puzzling correlations between changes in the sun's output and weather and climate patterns on Earth. These links appear to rise above the level of misinterpreted data or faulty equipment,” Ball said. Of course this research is not reported by the mainstream media.

"There are some empirical bits of evidence that show interesting relationships we don't fully understand," says Dr. Drew Shindell, a researcher at NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York, in an interview he did for the Christian Science Monitor. "For example, Shindell cites a 2001 study in which scientists looked at cloud cover over the United States from 1900 to 1987 and found that average cloud cover increased and decreased in step with the sun's 11-year sunspot cycle. The most plausible cause, they said: changes in the ultraviolet (UV) light the sun delivers to the stratosphere."

So let's put this all together. An increase in energy output from the sun in the form of cosmic rays and UV light seems to be the major culprit for any rise in earth temperatures, and a logical culprit for climate change. More heat energy from the sun produces more water vapor in the atmosphere (called evaporation), which causes more cloud cover, which traps heat. This would also account for global warming on other planets in the solar system, like Mars, which has been observed and documented by NASA, and other agencies around the world—and I’m sure that Mr. Cameron and the rest will agree that there are no SUV’s on Mars…you do don’t you?

To call those who have doubts, or just plane out don’t buy into manmade global warming, swine and not debate them is pure cowardice, Mr. Cameron. Whatever happened to tolerance? Isn’t that what liberals like you espouse? Could it be, you just don’t have the science to support it?

What do you think?

Money and object obsessed west has taken populous east in it's stride. The appetite is alarming but unimaginable. The creator always has the violent ways to curb such upsurge. But humans being an intelligent scribe, must control and restrict it's ways before 'him' stepping in and the agony of uncomfortable consequences.
