For the second time this season according to TSN, the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Calgary Flames on a Friday.

Last night at the Scotiabank Saddledome, Maxime Talbot notched a goal and an assist as the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Calgary Flames 3-2.

Talbot was acquired by the Avalanche in a trade that saw enforcer Steve Downie go from Colorado to Philadelphia on October 31. He notched his first goal as a member of the Avalanche, and third point. Former Toronto Maple Leaf forward John Mitchell also had a multi-point game for the Avalanche as he notted two assists. Both Talbot and Mitchell were also a +2.

The Avalanche were able to bounce back after an embarrassing 8-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night. Calgary native Taylor Hall notched three goals and one assist in the Oilers win.

The Flames, who drop to 10-14-4, are 13 points back of the Phoenix Coyotes for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. They next play in Edmonton on Saturday night. The Avalanche previously beat the Flames on Friday, November 8 by a score of 4-2 in Colorado.
