Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen was gunned down in Beverly Hills in 2010 and reports were released that her death was at the hands of a random stranger on a bicycle. The autopsy report that was just released contradicts those reports.

In 2010, Ronni Chasen was discovered in her Mercedes south of Sunset Blvd. She had been shot multiple times. The Beverly Hills Police Department announced that transient; Harold Martin Smith was the one who murdered her using a stolen police gun. Before he could be apprehended by police officers he used the same gun to commit suicide.

After their investigation, the Beverly Hills Police Department came to the conclusion that Smith killed Chasen while attempting to rob her. The newly released autopsy report came to a different conclusion.a

The section titled “Informant/Witness Statements” of the autopsy report that was released by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office revealed that she wasn’t in fact shot by someone on a bicycle. Chasen was pulled up to a red light when “an unknown vehicle pulled up and someone fired approximately four gunshots into her vehicle” according to the autopsy report.

At the time of Ronni Chasen’s death, speculations and rumors of a conspiracy to cover up her death details ran rampant through Hollywood. Ryan Katzenback, a director went so far as to file a lawsuit demanding the security hold on Chasen’s autopsy report be repealed. The lawsuit also requested he be given all of the documents related to Chasen’s death.
