Miranda Lambert’s latest single “Automatic” is tearing up the charts in its first week of release, landing at #26 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart, #35 on Country Aircheck, and #45 of the top 100 iTunes downloads. The song’s success undoubtedly pleases the country singer.

On February 14, Miranda Lambert posted to her website:

I am SO excited to finally share new music with you. “Automatic” is the first single from an album that I hope will mean as much to you as it does to me. There is a lot more to come over the next few months. But, for now, I hope you enjoy “Automatic” and spread the word… maybe even through a letter with a stamp on it :)

“Automatic” is a song about remembering simpler times. The lyrics mention learning to drive a stick shift, hanging clothes on the line to dry, using a Polaroid camera, and staying married even when there are problems to work out.

In an earlier post to her website, Miranda Lambert said:

The song brings back good memories and it reminds me to take a deep breath and to remember that getting there is half the fun.

As much as the song is meaningful to Miranda Lambert, it seems to have struck a chord with fans as well. Miranda Lambert has managed to bring to country airwaves another song that shows the sentimental side she offered to fans with “The House That Built Me” while maintaining a beat that allows fans to sing along and feel uplifted.

Songs like “Automatic” that speak to everyone in her audience are exactly why Miranda Lambert stays atop the charts and is nominated for the ACM Entertainer of the Year.
