For many years, I resisted the automatic bank teller machine; today I resist doing my banking online. This reluctance is my inborn fear and resistance to change; and becoming uncomfortable during the transition.
Long before direct deposit of weekly pay checks, with creation of the automatic bank teller, friends suggested switching and stubbornly I clung to my old banking pattern. Often on pay day, during my lunch time, I waited in line for up to 30 minutes to withdraw and deposit. Some weeks I went back 2 and 3 times. Who knows how many hours I wasted? Now I take care of my money needs automatically, sometimes over the telephone, 24 hours a day, with a less than 5 minute wait. What a convenience!
Why did I resist something which in the long run has turned out to be so beneficial?
