If you enjoy books with animal themes, then don’t miss out on this opportunity to try for some great titles autographed by their authors, while helping shelter dogs at the same time!
The Lucky Dog Rescue weekly book raffle started on November 1, 2011, and will run through January 2012. Every week, a different animal-themed book is being raffled, from new releases to tried and true best sellers.
November 20-27 is week four. This week, the book is Garth Stein’s bestseller The Art of Racing in the Rain, soon to be a major motion picture.
Animal lovers have hailedThe Art of Racing in the Rain as the best book of recent years. The story is told by Enzo, an aging dog who hopes to be reincarnated as a human. Enzo thinks his person, Denny, is amazing. He is an astute observer of his master's life, and has a lot of wisdom to impart, if only someone could hear him. Enzo’s loyalty and love color his observations as he watches Denny navigate some enormous life difficulties and personal tragedies.
Chances are only $1.00 and can be purchased online via Paypal. There are discounts for multiple ticket purchases. This week, anyone who buys $10 worth of tickets will automatically receive an Art of Racing in the Rain bookmark and “goenzo.com” lapel pin.
All proceeds benefit the small 501c3 non-profit animal rescue; Lucky Dog Rescue in Meridian Mississippi, a group that is “Saving the world, one dog at a time”. The group rescues the most broken dogs in kill shelters, rehabilitates them, and places them in loving adoptive homes. The rescue depends on donations in order to operate.
