January 24 - February 2 - The Washington Auto Show. The Washington Auto Showhttp://www.washingtonautoshow.com/2014-show-info/ the largest public show held in Washington, D.C., will take place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center from Thursday, January 23 through Sunday, February 2, 2014. Check event for various schedules. Admission.

January 25 - 18th Annual MSP Polar Bear Plunge. The 18th Annual Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge is not just an event - it's an experience that has become a winter-time tradition for thousands of warm-hearted Plungers. All day event at Sandy Point State Park. Correction: Polar Bear Plunge has been cancelled due to inclement weather. Check the web site for details.

January 25 - B.I.G. Book Sale. The Parole Rotary Books for International Goodwill (B.I.G.) Project will hold a book sale on Saturday January 25th from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. in Annapolis. Over 80,000 good new and used books of all kinds will be available at the sale.

January 25 - Anne Arundel County Battle of the Bands. The 16th annual Anne Arundel County Battle of the Bands features bands from private and public high schools. It will be held on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, 801 Chase Street, Annapolis.

February 1 - OBI's 16th Annual Mardi Gras. Featuring a variety of street performers, delicious food catered by The Spice Rack, silent and live auctions, and so much more! Mardi Gras begins at 6pm at facility in Millersville. OBI has provided vocational training and employment services to adults with developmental disabilities for over 50 years.

January 25 - The Reflex Union Jack's The Reflex serves as a perfect reminder of that great music of a decadent decade. The 80's! Cover. Performance starts at 9:30 p.m. at Union Jack's in Annapolis.

January 31 - Frankie Shegogue, John Previti, and Barry Hart perform rhythm and blues at The Westlawn Inn in North Beach. Performance is from 7:30pm - 10:00pm January 31 - The Igniters perform at Blair's Londontown Pub and Grill The Igniters perform a mixture of classic rock, pop and country music. Performance from 9 p.m. - 1 a.m.

January 24 - February 9 - 'Look Homeward Angel' performance by Compass Rose Theatre. This is the coming-of-age story of novelist Thomas Wolfe from his humble beginnings in the American South of 1916. Fridays through Sundays, various times at Compass Rose Theatre in Annapolis.

January 24 - February 9 - Death by Chocolate performance by Port Tobacco Players. Members of the newly renovated Meadowbrook Health Resort are dropping like flies, including famed chef Edith Chiles. Tickets $14/17. Fridays and Saturdays, 8 p.m., and Sundays 3 p.m. at Port Tobacco Players in LaPlata.

January 30-31 - Adventure Theatre MTC presents "Three Little Birds". Bowie State University&#8217s theater program is partnering with Adventure Theater Musical Theater Center (MTC) to present "Three Little Birds," a tribute to Bob Marley musical style. Tickets are $5. Showtimes are 11 a.m. & 1 p.m. at Bowie State University Fine and Performing Arts Center in Bowie.
