For those who enjoy racing and those who specifcally love open wheel racing in Southern California, Auto Club Speedway recently announced that Indy Car racing will return to the Fontana, Calif. track on September 14-15, 2012. The race will be held under the lights next fall, but there is a special deal for those who buy tickets by September 30, 2011.
People who have bought tickets to any of the 2011 Indy Car races have been extended the opportunity to get free tickets to the October 16th IZOD Indy Car World Championships in Las Vegas.
Those who buy tickets for next year's return of Indy Car to the Auto Club Speedway in September of 2012, will also be able to benefit from the 2011 Las Vegas IZOD World Championship promotion.
Auto Club Speedway has a special tie to Indy Car racing in particular. It was built through the efforts of Roger Penske with the high speed of Indy Cars specifically in mind. The ultimate green light for racing at the track was given after Driver, Paul Tracy, claimed the configuration was perfect following a test run in the mid 1990s.
NASCAR fall races, in the Sprint Cup Chase, were cancelled at the track this year in favor of the Kansas Speedway. For racing fans, the return of open wheel racing to the speedway provides an opportunity to see the speeds the track was originally design to accomodate.
Now Indy Car fans can enjoy the early season street racing at Long Beach and late season racing at the Auto Club Speedway in addition to a taste of the 2011 season in Las Vegas.
The free ticket promotion for the IZOD Indy Car World Championships in Las Vegas ends September 30, 2011. Tickets can be purchased via phone, internet, or the ACS ticket office. Further details are available at the Auto Club Speedway website.
