Autism Today: Road to recovery
GM Autism Foundation

The GM Autism Foundation is presenting the Autism Today Conference on May 20th, 2014, in Miami Beach. This groundbreaking autism healing conference features some of the world's leading complementary and alternative medicine breakthroughs in autism treatment. With physicians from around the world sharing their expertise and an open-minded forum for sharing novel approaches, parents and practitioners looking to explore new possibilities for fostering autism recovery will be in an ideal place for learning and discussion, just blocks from the ocean and many South Beach attractions. This event's sponsors include Mercedes-Benz of Miami, BunnieCakes, and Avanti Way. The GM Autism Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to support children and adults with autism and ASD. Their mission statement describes their purpose as follows:

Our mission at GM Autism Foundation is to help and improve the lives of children and adults with autism and their families by providing a range of community based services to meet specific needs by supporting areas of adaptive living and social skills, alternative treatment, behavioral development and recreational opportunities.
We strongly believe that with the right range of therapies and the help of alternative treatments, autistic children and adults alike have a better chance of overcoming their condition and integrate into society as any other person would. We will strive to find and implement ways of closing that big gap that exists between the way autism is conceived and what autism really is by giving our children and young adults that suffer from it a chance of reversing it.

Scheduled speakers at the conference include:

Professor Marco Ruggiero MD, Ph.D., presenting original and unpublished data about GcMAF and its effects on human neuronal and glial cells. He will also present data concerning the nutritional approach to the immunotherapy of autism and neurodegenerative diseases and the relationship between nutrition and immune system activation. Finally, he will present an original, non invasive ultrasonographic technique to detect brain inflammation and neuronal abnormalities in autism and neurodegenerative diseases, a tool that can be exploited for the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions.
