Autism support groups for daily parenting

The statistics are staggering for the number of children who are diagnosed with autism every day.  Some available statistics state that 1in 6 children are diagnosed with a form of autism in any given period of time.  Autistic disorders form a broad spectrum of disabilities for our children.  New guidelines for getting a correct diagnosis came out this past week. Parents with a child who has been diagnosed with a form of autism scramble almost daily to be informed as to how to educate and care for their child.

The Autism Support group of Sarasota will hold an informative meeting for parents who have a child with autism on February 2, at the Sarasota campus of Argosy University.  The meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Topics of discussion will cover a variety of concerns that parents who have autistic children have when living with this disablity.  One topic of particular interest will be the diet that autistic children eat.  New research shows that the foods parents serve to their autistic child have a huge impact on the child's behavior.  The subject of vitamins for your autistic child will also be discussed.  Educational activities that help a child with autism will also be included in discussions within the support group.

Parents who have an autistic child do not have to go it alone.  Support groups can make a huge impact on the quality of life for both parents and their autistic child.  Parents should participate in these support groups as fully as possible to keep up with the enormous amount of information that is continuously available to parents.
